This is the year of Brahms...? It's kinda weird how much Brahms is being performed around the Boston area this year, especially because it's such similar repertoire.

• The Newton Symphony is starting with the all-Brahms program (Brahms Symphony No. 1 & Brahms Violin Concerto).
• The Cambridge Symphony also has an all-Brahms program coming up later this season.
• The Boston Symphony Orchestra is performing the Brahms Symphony No. 1, No. 3, and the Brahms Violin Concerto.
• The Boston Philharmonic Orchestra is performing the Brahms Violin Concerto...
• The Bach Society Orchestra is also performing the Brahms Violin Concerto.

Four performances of the Brahms Violin Concerto, literally all in the next 3 months, is just ridiculous. It's one of the hardest Violin Concertos out there too. Strange.
